We are delighted to share that we have been named the “PRC Law Firm, Hong Kong Office of the Year” at the Asian Legal Business Hong Kong Law Awards 2023 last Friday.

This award recognizes our comprehensive offerings and the seamless collaboration between our PRC and Hong Kong offices. This integrated approach enables us to cater the diverse needs of our clients and offer them a one-stop-shop experience.
Our firm was also named the finalist in “M&A Deal of the Year”, while our Managing Partner Eric Chow was nominated as the “Managing Partner of the Year” for the second year.

Partner, Brandon Chow, and Senior Associates, Winnie Tang and Jessie Cheung, who have passed the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Legal Examination 2023. After obtaining a Greater Bay Area lawyer practice licence, a GBA lawyer will be qualified to practise in the nine Mainland municipalities in the GBA.

Brandon joined Tongshang Hong Kong in 2019 and was promoted to Partner in 2022. With over 11 years of experience in the legal industry, Brandon has earned a strong reputation among clients. His exceptional performance has earned him recognition as Hong Kong's Rising Star for 2023 by Asian Legal Business. Most recently, he is ranked as a “Rising Star Partner” by IFLR1000 for his exceptional performance in 2023.

Winnie and Jessie both practised for almost 10 years in corporate finance and have advised on a number of complex mergers and acquisitions, as well as initial public offerings, in the market. Their expertise and experience make them highly valuable assets in this field.

With the addition of Brandon, Winnie and Jessie, together with our Managing Partner, Eric Chow, who passed the inaugural Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Legal Examination, Tongshang Hong Kong now has four lawyers who are qualified to practise PRC law (civil and commercial legal matters) in the GBA.

Tongshang Hong Kong represented Anqing Shengtang Investment Holdings Group Co., Ltd. (安庆盛唐投资控股集团有限公司) on its issuance of RMB 440 million 3.43 per cent. credit enhanced bonds due 2026 with the benefit of an irrevocable standby letter of credit issued by Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited, Anhui Provincial Branch and listed on the Chongwa (Macao) Financial Asset Exchange Co., Ltd. (Bond code: MOXTB2322). This is the first ever credit enhanced bonds issued in Anqing City.

Anqing Shengtang Investment Holdings Group Co., Ltd. holds a diverse business portfolio, including, among others, infrastructure construction business, leasing business, warehousing and loading/unloading business and trading business. ICBC International Securities Limited and Guoyuan Securities Brokerage (Hong Kong) acted as joint global coordinators, joint lead managers and joint bookrunners in this transaction.

Tongshang Hong Kong team was led by Managing Partner, Eric Chow, and Partner, Priscilla Lee, supported by Registered Foreign Lawyer, Kevin Tian, Associate, Kathleen Liu, Trainee Solicitor, Sofia Long and Legal Assistant, Ziwei Qiu.
