Edith Au-Yeung is a family law specialist with over 13 years of experience advising clients on domestic and international divorce, financial settlements, asset tracing, children’s arrangements and nuptial agreements. She also advises on contentious and non-contentious matrimonial matters with trust and asset-protection considerations.

Edith began her career as a trainee at a leading boutique matrimonial law firm in Hong Kong and progressed to become a partner over time. Prior to joining Eric Chow & Co., Edith volunteered in Mongolia on a pro bono trip focused on children's welfare and helping vulnerable minors.

Having practised family law for more than a decade and gained global perspective through her professional hiatus, Edith approaches each matrimonial case with calmness, empathy, and a bespoke strategy. She guides clients in reconciling the past and planning for the future with clarity.

Edith also works closely with international lawyers in Hong Kong, Mainland China and other key jurisdictions as well as with trustees, forensic accountants, valuation experts, professional investigators, child psychologists and therapists.

Also advised on the procedural consequences of third-party interests, including joinder and intervention. The matter ultimately led to the Court of Appeal’s guidance on family litigation and mediation.

• Acted in complex ancillary relief proceedings involving third-party interests asserted by in-laws, family members, and privately held family companies. Advised on disputes where assets connected with the marriage – including real property, shares in family-owned companies, investment accounts, and joint bank accounts – were registered in the names of spouses and their relatives, while the parties disagreed as to the underlying beneficial ownership.

Financial Disclosure and Asset Tracing

• Acted in divorce cases involving significant cryptocurrency holdings, advising on full disclosure, forensic tracing of hidden digital assets, valuation of volatile holdings and structured asset division to minimize enforcement risks.
